Membership (Dinner) Meeting in September was at USCG Station Charleston; other dinner meetings were at our Headquarters Building. Yard Sale on Saturday 5 May at Club House cleared $396.
June dinner meeting was at Club House and catered by Po’ Pigs from Edisto Island. September meeting was at USCG Station Charleston. October Palmetto Log column from Cdr Billy Lynes noted the tragic events of 11 September and that one side of our USPS triangle is Civic Service. Seven replacement tables (approx cost of $85 each) were generosity donated by squadron members.
By-laws amended to change membership from “by invitation” to “by request”.
CPS Hosted D26 Fall Change of Watch at Town and Country Inn on Savannah Highway 19-21 October; chair was P/C Boo Ward. Squadron Change of Watch on 8 Dec at Tommy Condon’s; D26 Guest of Honor was D/C McVey.
Squadron Awards: John Patten 50-years; Spark Plug - Janice Kromer; Bronze Propeller - Billy Lynes. Forty-seven Merit Marks were earned. Charleston made the National Honor Roll for Cooperative charting and was fifth in D26.

Scheduled Cruises: Feb - McCleeanville (Cape Romain Lighthouse); Mar - Buzzards Roast; April - Capers Island on 20 and St Augustine starting on 25th; May - Hilton Head; June - Adopt-A-Chart; July - Beaufort; Aug - Georgetown; Sep - Myrtle Beach; Oct - Oyster Roast at Toad Hall; Nov - Bohicket Marina; and Dec - Charleston Harbor Parade of Boats. Boats on St Augustinecruise included: No Sense, Dot Calm, Kingdom, Gonneybird and Troy Count. Beaufort cruise consisted of nine boats and at least 25 people.
Education Programs: Spring Boat Smart on two Saturdays at Charleston Maritime Center. Spring member courses: AP, JN, ME, SA and CP. Summer Boat Smart Class on two Saturdays in May at Squadron Headquarters; and a another one in July at Squadron Headquarters. . Summer Member Class was P at Hobcaw Yacht Club. Fall Member Classes were: N, EM, SA, W and IQ. On water training class for Piloting Students. Fall Boat Smart class on two Saturdays in Nov in Summerville.
Membership (Dinner) Meeting for February and August were at the Omar Shrine Club; March dinner meeting was at USCG Station Charleston; August (finger food) meeting was at Channel 5 and September meeting was at Ft Johnson DNR; other dinner meetings were held in our Club House. The May membership (not dinner) meeting was a tour of the Hunley.
Pluming repaired to restore water pressure were made for our kitchen. Smoke Detectors and Fire Extinguisher installed during the September squadron headquarters work day.

Due to job transfer Ed Kridler resigned as Executive Officer in May and Charlotte Yeomans was appointed as our Executive officer.

In June Edwin Kridler, SN was appointed as our Executive Officer. In July Corrin Marinko, JN was appointed as our Treasurer.

Education Programs: Spring Member Courses - P, AP, JN, SA, CP, ME and IQ. Fall First Aid / CPR class was held on a Fall Saturday. Fall Member Courses were: P, AP, N, W, EM and SA. Public Boat Smart classes in Feb / Mar and in May. In September we started holding a Boat Smart class once a week (50 nights a year).
Membership Meetings: April was at Sticky Fingers in Summerville, guest speaker was Claiborne Young; May was a combined Cruise to City Marina and dinner meeting at the Varity Store Restaurant. September (dinner) membership meeting was at West Ashley Crab Shack. Other membership (dinner) meeting were at our club house.
We manned a CPS booth at Annual Boat Show at the North Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. We also manned a CPS Booth at the Tall Ship event at the Maritime Center in June.
CPS Adopted NOAA Nautical Chart 11518; CPS has agreed to verify navigational features on this chart. A training meeting and cookout was held in October for our Cooperative Charting Team.
