As we Power and Sail into 2018 we have a big change that we will meet; our brand. This year we will be transitioning from Charleston Sail and Power Squadron to Americas Boating Club Charleston. I know there are some among us that don’t welcome change, but sometimes change is the shot in the arm needed for rejuvenation. My hope is this name change will be inviting and reignite our enthusiasm for our club and grow the group and district in the upcoming year.

National decided the name change would make us sound more like a family oriented boating club than before. The name change doesn’t change who we are or what we enjoy doing, and that is boating. Starting with the boat show in January we will hoist our new banner proclaiming, we are Americas Boating Club and we are here to have fun. So bring your family and friends and join us. What’s the worst that could happen? You’ll have fun and meet new people, it doesn’t sound like a bad deal to me.

To our members that haven’t been around in awhile, come on back for a visit. We would be happy to have you. And when you come, bring a friend.
