This Sunday, May 15, the Charleston Sail and Power Squadron will join the Lowcountry Kayak Anglers for a special four mile paddle cruise on Bohicket Creek to Reds at Bohicket Marina.

Paddlers will meet on Johns Island at 3344 Cottage Plantation Road at 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning. After a short briefing, we’ll proceed to the dock at the end of Cottage Plantation and ride the falling tide to Reds. After lunch, paddlers will either take a pre-staged car from the marina, back to Cottage Plantation Road, or ride the rising tide back to the dock. (Low tide is at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday.)

Other boaters are welcome to join the flotilla along the way to fish, serve as safety vessels and otherwise join the slow motion fun. The creek is plenty wide along the route and the center of the channel is between 11 and 19 feet deep at MLLW in this area. The nearest public boat ramp is Cherry Point near Rockville. Others can join the group by car at the Bohicket Red's at 11:00 a.m.

For more information call Jeff La Rue at 843-870-4858. If you can not reach him, call Karl Naugle 843-810-3200
